Historically Christianity religion along with Judaism and Islam have
been
categorized as monotheistic religions. However, since many Christians
believed
in the Trinity, some felt their claim of monotheism was suspect. Since
the
Trinitarian's historic phrase "one substance" was nebulas enough to
imply
their three gods were one person--the Trinitarian wing of the Christian
church
was accepted as monotheistic.
The word "Trinity" does not appear in the Bible. Adolf Harneck, a
Trinitarian
and noted church historian observed that as late as the 3rd Century
most
Christians did not believe the holy Spirit was a personality but merely
the
power of God. Early church writers, such as Irenaeus, Clement of
Alexandria,
Tertullian, Origen, Novatian, Arnobius and Lactantius, were very
explicit
in affirming that the Heavenly Father alone is the supreme God and that
Jesus
is completely subordinate to His authority and will. As educated
converts
from Paganism vied for positions of authority in the church. They
brought
with them the pagan concept of a "triune god" that was resisted by
ordinary
believers. "The victory of orthodoxy [so called] was a triumph of
priests
and theologians over the indeed deeply rooted faith of the people."
In 325 AD Emperor Constantine convened the Council of Nice and through
political
intrigue with the bishops had the Nicene Creed formulated. It stated
that
the Father and Son are coequal and co-eternal. This disagreed with
Jesus'
words, "My Father is greater than I." (John 14:28) "I can of mine own

do nothing my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but

know better, are responsible. Many such are willing to compromise the
truth, slander God's character, and stultify and deceive themselves,
for the sake of peace, or ease, or present earthly advantage. And any
minister, who by uttering a word for an unpopular truth, will risk the
loss of his stipend, and reputation for being "established" in the bog
of error, is considered a bold man, even though he ignominiously hide
his identity by withholding his name from his published protests.
If professed Christians would
be honest
with themselves and true to God, they would soon learn that "their fear
toward God is taught by the precepts of men." (`Isa. 29:13`.) If all
would decide to let God be true though it should prove every man a liar
(`Rom. 3:4`), and should show all human creeds to be imperfect and
misleading, there would be a great creed-smashing work done very
shortly. Then the Bible would be studied and appreciated as never
before; and its testimony that the wages of sin is death (extinction),
would be recognized as 'a just recompense of reward.'"

"Regan
[a.k.a. "OCTAMAN"] pushes his unique brand of anti-Christian
establishment ideology
within his music - and the music is a cross between 70's pop/hard rock,
with a healthy dose of jazz drumming/candle-lit night club musings -
all lined with Regan's lyrics that claim criticism and lies within
traditional Church doctrine. The final
track, "Great Creed Smashing", is a good example, with words, 'the lies
were so frightening, their speech mesmerizing, their clothes so
commanding and dashing, there'd be no enlightening and no one
criticizing, no not until the Great Creed Smashing.' Regan
plays a
kinetic guitar solo within the tune as well - fast and furious. The
topics hit are child molestations, lies of hell, pursuit of collection
plate rewards - not light stuff - but the topics are poignant, and the
words give any thinking man pause for thought - much like the words of
religious envelope pushing lyricists like Marilyn Manson and XTC." -
